Welcome to my blog. I take pictures of myself trying to dress like Harry Styles. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Hope you have a nice stay!

The Autumn Edit: Must-Have Basics for Fall

The Autumn Edit: Must-Have Basics for Fall

I will be the first to admit that I go shopping for any and every occasion! Got a birthday party? I need a new dress. Date? Definitely need a new look. New season abound? I’ll be shopping for this for weeks on end. It just so happens that this weekend saw the end of summer (thank f*ck honestly… I hate summer) and cooler weather is on the horizon. That basically means I need a brand new wardrobe for the start of autumn. 😏

I love dressing for fall mostly because I live in Los Angeles and the weather is perfect for nearly anything I want to wear; cosy jumpers? Check! Over the knee boots? Go for it! T-shirt and jeans?! That’ll work too! It’s like autumn was made for the city of Los Angeles (I don’t even want to hear to argument that summer was made for LA!) My wardrobe is begging for a season turnover, so I thought I would share with you all the different pieces I have my eye on for autumn featuring my two favorite places to shop: ASOS and Topshop.

Keep an eye on my Instagram for a possible haul of things I do end up picking up!

The weather in Los Angeles stays pretty warm for awhile -- I probably won’t need a jacket until mid to late October so most of these pieces can still be worn when it’s warm out as well. I am not a big believer in wearing clothes according to season, but when it comes to my florals, I tend to want to wear darker hues than I would in spring or summer -- hence the first piece.

I’ve avoided the 70s trend long enough and I’ve been eyeing up the kick flare pants with the polka dots. I am still not 100% sure how I feel about the trend, but I think the trousers are a safe enough bet. I picked the lace dress because I love the deep V and my job requires me to attend a few fancy nights out and I have to have the right pieces to do so, while the utility jumpsuit is perfect for the office or for the weekend. Speaking of career wardrobe basics -- you can never have too many fancy trousers, like the light blue ones!

If you are loving any of these ASOS pieces you can click on the picture or the links below to snag them!

That’s what ASOS has to offer… but what about Topshop?!

Much like ASOS, Topshop is one of those places that I always shop at. Being such a small gal it can be difficult for me to find petite clothing that actually fits me well -- both ASOS and Topshop have pieces that I never have to alter. What I love most about Topshop is that their pieces are unique; they put a spin on classics-- much like the mustard button down blouse that is the perfect fall shade.

I can also count on Topshop for trendy pieces that don’t break the bank -- like the snake print pleated skirt and the animal print shirt dress. Both pieces that I could wear for drinks and dinner, but also repurpose to wear to the office. That scalloped cami I’ve had my eye on for quite some time, but really it was The Anna Edit who has made me lust after this piece even more, it’s so versatile.

The showstopper is the plaid coat that would be a perfect statement piece for the cooler nights that we have in Los Angeles. I love the way the model is wearing it; yellow skirt, white top, and the coat over it. Plus, with it being from the petite line, I can imagine this coat would be a perfect fit and a great investment piece because plaid never goes out of style.

If you’re loving that coat as much as I am (or any Topshop pieces), the pictures take you straight to be products! You’re welcome!

And those are my must have fall basics for 2018 over and done!

Next week will be a blast from the past, as I look to fetus Harry Styles for outfit inspiration that is going to be perfect for an autumn weekend! By the by, if you’re ever curious about which outfits serve as my Harry Styles inspiration, check out my Harry Styles Pinterest board for a sneak peek!
