I know what you’re thinking -- another jumpsuit?! But let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good jumpsuit?! It’s an easy outfit that has a place in your wardrobe no matter what the occasion; business casual minimalist wardrobe? Get yourself a simple black jumpsuit! Date night with your SO?! Pick up a sparkly jumpsuit with a deep V. Need some casual street outfits?! A jumpsuit in a playful print is just right for you.
Just in case I don’t say it enough, I’m petite; like very petite… extra petite… like I am pretty sure some children are taller than myself. It comes with loads of problems; I can’t reach cabinets, people routinely mistake me for a teenager, and --perhaps the most depressing of all-- I can hardly ever find clothes that fit. When I reached my 30s, I thought maybe it was time to try and not shop in the juniors section and get “big girl” clothes.
I, like so many other people, spend most of my day at an office. This post could easily complain about the fact that I have to get up early or the fact that I absolutely despise traffic -- but really, this post it’s about office wear essentials! When I got my current job about a year and a half ago I was told that the office had a business like dress code and mini alarm bells went off in my head: How do I build an office wardrobe that still has my personality in it?
More often than not I get asked how I choose which Harry Styles fashion looks to recreate. As you can imagine, there are tons of outfit choices to rifle through when it comes to Harry Styles, as he’s been pretty fashionable as long as he’s been famous. But I do have a bit of a formula for choosing outfits to recreate and since some of you have expressed curiosity, I thought I would share that formula.
I love dressing for fall mostly because I live in Los Angeles and the weather is perfect for nearly anything I want to wear; cosy jumpers? Check! Over the knee boots? Go for it! T-shirt and jeans?! That’ll work too! It’s like autumn was made for the city of Los Angeles (I don’t even want to hear to argument that summer was made for LA!) My wardrobe is begging for a season turnover, so I thought I would share with you all the different pieces I have my eye on for autumn featuring my two favorite places to shop: ASOS and Topshop.
’ll be the first to admit, you’re much more likely to find me in my PJs binging something on Netflix than you are out on the town in Los Angeles! Sure, the Los Angeles weather allows for nights out all year round and it’s definitely something you should take advantage of; but is there really anything better than cuddling up with your pup and settling in for a good Netflix series?! But I hear that there are some people who love going for a night out. I can’t blame you, but you can’t just show up to drinks and dancing in just any ol’ thing can you?!
Another week, another blog post. So far I’ve stuck to my guns and I’ve done one outfit post, one non-outfit post every other week, and now we’re back to an outfit post. We’re pretty much at the tail end of summer (and before you say anything -- I know the solstice doesn't end until nearly the end of September) so I wanted to put out one last summer appropriate outfit that may be a bit more Clueless inspired than Harry Styles inspired.
Well guys, this is it -- the end of an era some would say. Now that Harry Styles: Live on Tour is over and done, it’s time for me to do my very last round-up of my favorite suits from this tour. Just like the one I did for his European stops, I will be highlighting five suits that I think were Harry’s best. I also did a roundup post for his Oceania stops, although it only had three suits, as there weren’t as many dates in the Oceania countries.
I love bright colors and patterns just as much as I love a good all black outfit, but there is something about summer that makes me want to wear all bright colors all the time.
While I was browsing the Urban Outfitters website, as I frequently do, I came across a red plaid dress that looked suspiciously like a Vivienne Westwood suit Harry wore back in May 2017 lovingly dubbed “the tea towel suit.” As we can see below, it is a bit on the tea towel side, but I actually really like this suit -- it fits him amazingly well
I thought of doing a pink shirt with white polka dots and black jeans just as Harry Styles did; but A -- it was difficult trying to find the shirt and B -- the more I thought about it, the more I decided that I wanted this one to be something of a loose interpretation and started the hunt for a blazer or a dress instead.
I wanted something that would be perfect for a night out on the town, and this lacy jumpsuit really brings the dressiness needed to make this perfect for going out.
Since we are in spring and Los Angeles tends to heat up pretty quickly (it’s supposed to be 91 degrees tomorrow!) I wanted to bring you a fun outfit inspired by this look that is perfect for any outdoor occasion; rooftop movies, picnics, festivals, farmer’s markets -- this Kendall + Kylie romper is perfect! I love it because it’s a cute outfit that you can throw on and easily look put-together. If you are anything like me and you want to look cute but you don’t want to put in all that effort to look cute, then this look is literally calling your name.
I thought to usher in spring and the second leg of Harry’s tour, I’d feature an outfit inspired by one of the suits he wore on his first leg back in 2017 that is --of course-- floral.
The Sunshine Blogger Award is an award given to bloggers by bloggers to those they believe bring happiness and sunshine to the blogging community, and I am so happy to be nominated. The inception of this blog came when I was bored at work one day and had long since been frustrated with the fact that I wasn’t doing anything creative in my spare time -- and thus, Dressing With Style(s) was born in November of 2017 and it’s been a rollercoaster. And while I am not a big fan of actual rollercoasters, I have thoroughly enjoyed the one that is this blog.
Harry is no stranger to wearing all black (the pap pictures from New York City in January of this year come to mind immediately 🔥) and I myself love a good all black outfit; I think it looks very chic and like you're seconds away from saying "f*ck everything" and that is always the look I'm going for. This outfit, however, had a little something extra -- the “Styles” embroidered on it.
While it would be rather easy to find a black button-down with white polka dots, I sometimes like to choose pieces that still have the essence of what he is wearing, but with my own stylish flare. Which is why I instead opted for a round neck top that is unfortunately not sold anymore but I gave you two options of different styles. I, like Harry, also had on ripped black jeans and booties -- although mine are a different color and have a bit of a heel.
While I was scrolling through all these custom Gucci suits wondering how on Earth I was going to recreate them, a visual came to mind. I wonder if Harry stands in front of his closet and asks himself: “Should I wear the little Gucci suit, the little Gucci suit, or… the little suit?”
I was looking for "One Direction lyrics with the word cold" because --despite the fact that blue skies and sun is the norm in Los Angeles-- I know January around the world is a bit more on the nipply side so I wanted to make sure to get some winter friendly Harry-inspired outfits on the blog.
NYE outfits are usually all about the sparkle, and the one that I chose was no different. The problem I ran into, however, was finding an outfit of Harry's that could serve as the inspiration for the dress. Usually, it's the other way around -- I find an outfit of his I want to recreate, then find the pieces to do so. But, NYE was different -- I instead bought the dress on a whim after I saw it on one of those fast fashion websites and impulse bought, knowing I wanted it for New Year's.
