Welcome to my blog. I take pictures of myself trying to dress like Harry Styles. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Hope you have a nice stay!
Aloha! I'm Michelle -- a 30-year-old LA dweller whose entire existence can be summed up in three sentences: I love dogs. I love Harry Potter. I love laughing. I could just pretty much leave it there as that's really all there is to know about me, but that wouldn't be much of an About Me, now would it?
I'm actually not 100% sure where to start -- maybe I can chat to you about college and how I got a degree in English although it took me six and a half years to finish because I took my role as the campus funny girl very seriously. I didn't want anyone to steal my thunder so I stayed at the lovely Stephen F. Austin State University as long as possible. Also, I never went to class so that may have played a role. How I got that degree I have no idea.
I can also maybe chat to you about living in my hometown of Dallas for awhile after graduating. I waited tables at Chili's and tried out new comedy material on patrons. Newsflash: People who are trying to have dinner at a restaurant really don't want to hear any jokes -- they just want their Baby Back Ribs and they want to get the F outta there. Did that stop me from telling them jokes? No, of course not. After nearly three years of living at home, I packed up and headed West with my eyes set on the prize! I was going to go to Hollywood and make it big; I was going to be a comedian, write for TV, and maybe do some acting. I was definitely not going to live in a shitty apartment in a sketch part of Hollywood doing social media professionally.
Spoiler alert: The latter is what happened, the former is still a work in progress. Along the way of living in LA I picked up some new interests: Instagramming latte art, going hiking at Runyon with my dog and a full face of makeup, learning to put "the" in front of highway names, and also... fashion. Clothes? Style? I don't even really know the term, all I know is that the road to get there was an interesting one.
Apple Music suggested Harry Styles by Harry Styles to me one day in August and I refused to listen to it until it suggested it to me so much that I caved. I immediately fell in love with the album and also immediately fell in love with something else about him -- his clothes. Whilst I was at work one day I had a completely brilliant thought: I should make a blog dedicated to dressing like Harry Styles. And, when you're scouring the internet looking for pieces like bubblegum pink suits, gold boots, and the KISS shirt that says "Hot N Hard" on the back, well... you just kind of fall in love with clothes. And now, here we are.
That's enough on the life story front isn't it? Yeah, it totally is -- all that's left is for you to enjoy!
