Let's Take A Ride Out in the Cold Air
Let not the title of this post fool you -- One Direction know-it-all I am not. I literally had to type into Google "One Direction lyrics with the word cold," in order to find what I was looking for -- which was really just a way for me to make a clever reference to Harry Styles as a blog post title. Does he ever talk about being cold on his solo stuff?
Anyway -- the reason I was looking for "One Direction lyrics with the word cold" is because --despite the fact that blue skies and sun are the norm in Los Angeles-- I know January around the world is a bit more on the nipply side so I wanted to make sure to get some winter friendly Harry-inspired outfits on the blog.
Last week we had the pinstripe pants with the black ASOS coat that I love so much and this week we're diving into a more casual outfit that's perfect for any daytime plans; a grey sweater, brown boots, and black jeans. Stolen --like always-- from our dear friend Harry Styles.
In addition to One Direction lyrics I didn't know, Google also blessed me with the exact day, location, and activity of this outfit of Harry's -- May 15, 2013 in East London while "heading into a building." Supplementary information that adds no value to this post but highlights Google's uncanny ability to scrape the internet for minuscule information: it was a Wednesday afternoon, Liam Payne was also there, Harry was eighteen.
Small details add some dynamic to this outfit; my boots have more of a grey undertone to them, which complements the sweater perfectly. My jeans are a lighter wash of black than his and the ankle part of my jean doesn't have quite a tight a fit as his do. The main difference is --of course-- the ruffle on the sweater. I could have gone with a plain grey sweater but like... why do that when you can add ruffles?!
Next week won't be so casual of an outfit. In fact, it's a take on a tour suit from 2017. As a sidebar, I had quite a difficult time trying to figure out how to recreate 2017 tour suits because A -- those b*tches are beautiful but B -- they're custom. Worry not, I've got at least one figured out; so same time next week?! It's a date!
P.S. Can we take a moment to recognize my friend Briana and her photography skills?! Her link is below, so if you're in the Missouri area and wanting some beautiful pictures taken, she's your girl!
