Welcome to my blog. I take pictures of myself trying to dress like Harry Styles. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Hope you have a nice stay!

2018 Sephora VIB Sale Guide

2018 Sephora VIB Sale Guide

If you’re an avid reader of my blog (or maybe even a sometimes reader…) you may have caught on to a little pattern that I do here; Harry Styles inspired look, then lifestyle post, then Harry Styles, then lifestyle (or beauty, or whatever else I feel like doing…) But, why not take a little break from tradition and do two lifestyle-ish posts in a row?! “Sephora sale!” aren’t exactly words that you hear too often, I mean -- they’re famous for never having sales like ever. But, guess what time it is ladies and gents -- that’s right SEPHORA VIB SALE TIME!

The Sephora VIB Sale is the time where pretty much everyone and their mother goes crazy at the makeup store. 20% off may sound like nothing, but for a store that carries products that are over $100 that you’ve been eyeing for ages -- 20% off sounds like heaven. And, because it’s holiday time (this sale is actually a holiday bonus!) and many people are starting to shop for friends and family (or themselves… I don’t judge), I thought this week called for a shopping list to take advantage of this sale.

Next week I’ll be serving you another Harry Styles look!

Herbivore Lapis Balancing Facial Oil | Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm with Echinacea GreenEnvy™ | Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil

I kind of have a good skincare routine down for both daytime and nighttime, but there is one place I am looking to improve -- face cream. I’ve faced the music, my skin is aging, and an anti-aging night cream is something that I added to my routine back when I was 29 and I have kept it up. Right now, I am using one from the drugstore by the brand Pacifica… but I don’t love it.

I’ve heard plenty about the brand Drunk Elephant but it is very expensive (I know… I know… this is the time to buy!) and if I end up loving a product by them, I realistically won’t be able to purchase it again until another Sephora sale comes around. So instead, I’ve had my eye on the Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm with Echinacea GreenEnvy from Farmacy -- a vegan and cruelty free brand! The product is $48.

Also in terms of skin care, I am looking to re-purchase the Lapis Oil from Herbivore. It’s a bit pricey at $72 but it lasts ages -- I’ve had mine for months and it hasn’t gone off. I am finally coming down to the last little bit and I need to make a repurchase.

Rounding out the skin care portion of this blog is a daytime toner. At night I use witch hazel as my skin tends to be pretty acne prone; between stress pimples and hormonal acne, there are more days when my skin isn’t clear than when it is. During the day, however, I like something that is refreshing but not too moisturizing as my skin is also pretty oily. Right now, I’m using the Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner from Herbivore but --at $39-- it’s expensive in relation to how long it lasts (a little over a month.) So instead, I’ve been thinking about picking up the Ultra Facial Toner from Kiehl’s. It’s only $16 and seems to be your plain ol’ run-of-the-mill toner, which is pretty much all I am looking for when it comes to my daytime routine!

Amika Curl Corps Enhancing Gel | Ouai Wave Spray | Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind™ Avocado + Quinoa Co–Wash

I don’t shop for hair care at Sephora too much and when I do, I am usually all about Drybar. But, I’ve been slowly trying to find the right products for curly hair -- which is dry and I only wash once to twice a week. I have this dream of having huge natural hair with the world’s softest curls, but I need to the right products for that.

Because I only wash my hair once to twice a week, one of those washes is usually a co-wash -- or conditioner only wash. You can do this with regular conditioner or --as someone with natural hair-- purchase a product that is designed specially for this. I’ve heard so much about the brand Briogeo, and they make a co-wash that I think I want to give a go; the Be Gentle, Be Kind™ Avocado + Quinoa Co–Wash. The product promises to clean hair of impurities while not stripping it of its natural oils, leaving it healthily moisturized -- which is just what I need!

Another brand that I hear a lot about when it comes to curly hair is Amika, and they have a product called Curl Corps Enhancing Gel that intrigues me. It claims to add shine, reduce frizz, and enhance curl shape, but gels usually leave my curls crunchy to the touch and immoveable. Maybe this one will be different, as if claims to not leave that crunchy feeling behind on your curls!

Last but not least, the Ouai Wave Spray. My natural hair sits around a 3A/3B curl pattern and sometimes I like to make it even curlier and even bouncier -- that’s where a wave spray comes in. But, usually, they’re made with sea salt because they’re meant to give straight hair a texture. Salt, however, dries out my hair, leaving it frizzy rather than curly. The Ouai Wave Spray is made with a rice protein instead of a sea salt making it safe to use on my hair and also builds the body without leaving behind too much buildup. I’ve used the product before and I’ve liked it, so I may pick it up again during the VIB sale!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation | Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette | The Pretty Vulgar The Feathers Mascara

And now on to what we’re all here for when it comes to Sephora -- the makeup! If you are anything like me, you’re a bit of a makeup junkie. I mean, when I see new beauty releases, I get literal heart eyes. If I bought everything I liked, however, I would purchase myself out of house and home and so I curb my beauty buying as much as possible.

The first thing I have my eye on is the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette. As a proud owner of all the Naked palettes (except Smoky) when I saw this one on Instagram I immediately fell in love. It’s like the perfect cross between the Naked 3 palette with its beautiful rosy tones and the Renaissance palette with its deep red tones. Definitely something that I am interested in!

Outside of eyeshadow palettes, mascara and foundation tend to be my top two in terms of makeup I always want to try. I’ve heard so much about the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation and honestly -- Charlotte Tilbury is one of my favorite brands, albeit on the pricier spectrum of things. I have a few Charlotte Tilbury things that I love --lipstick, mascara, blush-- but I have never ventured out to face products and honestly, I think this foundation would be the perfect place to start. And, at $44, also the perfect thing to pick up in the sale.

Last but not least, a mascara that I can’t wait to get my hands on -- the Pretty Vulgar The Feathers Mascara. I am going to be pretty honest -- pretty much all mascaras work on my lashes. I have full, black, naturally curly lashes that can hold product pretty well so even the crappiest of mascaras will do something to my lashes. But, I do love me a good volumizing mascara and that’s exactly what The Feathers promises!

And that --my friends-- is what I have my eye on for the Sephora VIB sale!

Just as I promised -- the Harry Styles outfits will be back next week and I’ve been stockpiling a few good ones. After that we’ll have another lifestyle that I haven’t quite worked out yet and then another Harry Styles post that I am pretty sure you all will love! I’ll see you next week!

All the love,
